Overview

Why did you want to lose weight?

In actual fact, my boyfriend was the deciding reason that I wanted to lose weight. I noticed that I had put on some weight throughout the relationship, but I wasn't aware that it was more than 10 lb. At some point, he asked me if I still felt comfortable and then I started wondering. He asked, for example, if maybe I would rather leave my shorts in the closet instead of wearing them out in public.

"With the support from the YAZIO app, the pounds just started falling off."

At my height, you could really see the 20 lb that I'd put on over 1.5 years. I love fast food, pizza and foods that have a lot of calories. I started a low-carb diet and then a diet with weightloss shakes, but I just didn't lose weight. I stumbled across YAZIO thanks to an Instagram blogger and decided to give it a try. With the support from the YAZIO app, the pounds just started falling off.

What did you want to accomplish on your journey?

First and foremost, I wanted to lose weight just to be thinner. When I started, I wanted to lose around 20 lb and get down to 130 lb. At the same time, it was also important for me to feel better. Healthwise, I quickly realized that I was a lot fitter and had more energy.

I started liking what I saw in the mirror more and more. It's a great feeling to finally feel good about myself!

I had to learn to control my hunger, to eat with control and to recognize when I was full. To get a nice, tight stomach, I do a short 15-minute workout for my stomach. Plus, it's important for me to reach my 10,000 steps a day. I don't have to torment myself in the gym, which is a relief.

Isabell’s Tips

Learn to accept yourself
Be honest with yourself, especially regarding what and how much you've eaten
Use old pictures to motivate yourself
Never give up

I eat relatively normal, replace noodles with zucchini noodles and try to avoid eating bread. Depending on my mood, I also like to cook some of the recipes from the YAZIO app. They also taste super delicious. My boyfriend also eats them, even though he doesn't need to diet. :) To treat myself, I enjoy a small piece of chocolate a day. Going without it would be almost impossible for me.

How did YAZIO help you?

With my calculated calorie needs, I finally knew how much I could really eat. Before, I wasn't really aware how many calories were in different foods.

The YAZIO app explained the calories breakdown and it worked really well for me. I got a Fitbit for my birthday, which also helped support me. The fantastic recipes in the app were also a big help. Highly recommended!

What advice do you have for other users?

You have to learn to accept yourself and not lie to yourself, especially regarding what and how much you're eating. And you can never give up! So many people have had great success and, if you believe in yourself, you can also do it.

What are your future goals?

I'm going to keep working on myself, but not be as hard on myself. I know now what's important and right for my body and I'm really thankful for that. In the future, I will make sure I'm living healthily. My health and my body will thank me for it.

Why do you want to tell your story?

Just like others have inspired me, I want to be an inspiration. I may not have been 220 lb, but even the 154 lb were too much for my height. Even when others said that I wasn't fat, I was still slightly overweight.

A lot of transformation stories start with being overweight and end with being at a normal weight. I just think that it's also a big accomplishment to lose weight at 154 lb, which may be a normal weight for a lot of people. And I want to inspire the person who has the same story as me, who may not be really overweight, but wants to be fitter and healthier by losing a few pounds.

I saw how positive the feedback was on my picture and how many people asked me for advice. I'm excited that I've already been able to inspire a few people with my story and hope that, as I continue, I can also continue to motivate a lot more people!
