Why did you want to lose weight?
One day in December of 2018, I finally had this aha moment. I was out of breath and struggling to tie my shoes and I knew that I had to make some serious changes in my life. Since I had already had failed diet attempts in the past, I started with a failure analysis of myself.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
I wanted to fundamentally improve my quality of life, get in better shape and reach a comfortable weight of 220 lb.
"Don't lose sight of what's most important along the way—you!"
I also wanted to develop a better awareness of myself and, above all, of my lifestyle and eating habits. For healthy reasons, I wanted to cut out pork and alcohol with my new diet.
How did you reach your goals?
In the first week, I used YAZIO to better understand what I was eating. I logged all foods that I ate in the app and projected my weekly calorie count. After 7 days, I was at a total of 48,032 Calories. That was about 6,800 Calories per day. It was a shockingly high number that I wanted to decrease drastically.
Marcus’ Tips
Today I consume a lot fewer calories throughout the day. Since I'm a salesman working in the field, I'm very active. I also have EMS training once a week. In contrast to previous diets, I don't have any cheat days. It might work for some, but for me, the chance of a setback is too high.
How did YAZIO help you?
With YAZIO, I always have an overview of my goals. Plus, YAZIO PRO also has delicious recipe and you get an overview of your current measurements. The app showed me how much I was eating throughout the day. This helped me better portion my meals when cooking and eat more consciously. The Facebook group also supported and motivated me along the way. YAZIO is and will remain my constant companion.
Did you have setbacks?
Since I analyzed my mistakes down to the smallest details, I haven't really had any setbacks.
What advice do you have for other users?
Go your own way. Set specific, measurable and ambitious, yet realistic goals. Have fun with what you're doing, but never lose focus. YAZIO helped me do this on a daily basis. If you approach this transition with a positive attitude, like most things in life, you're already halfway there.
What are your future goals?
Dietary changes and weight maintenance are still in full swing. All other goals have been achieved.
Why do you want to tell your story?
You are the most important thing and you can do it. You're losing weight for yourself, you're making changes for yourself and for nobody else. I hope my story can help motivate other users to keep going. Believe in yourself!
