Why did you want to lose weight?
I suddenly realized how uncomfortable I was in my own skin. I love fashion and there were so many things that I wanted to buy, but they just looked ridiculous on my figure. I even stopped looking in the mirror because of my fat rolls, cellulite and chubby cheeks. I was on the verge of paranoia because, in my eyes, all women were pretty and sexy and I was just short and fat.
"I feel much more secure and self-confident. I have way more energy. I finally feel happy."
I was sitting almost 11 hours per day behind a desk and I had almost no time left over for exercise and I wasn't motivated. I was just way too tired. I had completely forgotten what it felt like to feel good about myself. I realized I was only eating pizza, noodles and bread because it was so quick and I didn't feel like preparing anything healthy. After that, I just went to bed or laid on the couch. Of course, that also wasn't good.
One night, I broke down in tears and let all of my frustration out to my boyfriend and immediately signed up for a Power Plate class the next day. I met a personal trainer who recommended using an app to count calories. That's how came across YAZIO. I was really skeptical at the beginning because I never believed in dieting or healthy eating, but I was so unhappy with myself that I was determined to change everything. I wanted to prove to myself that I was the most important person and had to learn discipline and perseverence.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
Before my weight loss, I was wearing a size 10 and wanted to get down to a size 6. I would have also been happy with 125 lb. I wanted to set a goal that wasn't unrealistic and wouldn't lead to disappointment. I thought dropping about 20 lb and exercising 2 to 3 times per week was realistic and would have an impact of my life and how I felt about myself.
How did you reach your goals?
Since I was always suffering from stomach problems, my doctor suggested that I do a food intolerance test. From there, I elimintated lactose and gluten from my diet. I started drinking 3 liters of water or herbal tea per day and tracked everything I ate with YAZIO. I also started going to Power Plate classes 3 times per week and bought myself a fitness tracker. Although, after a week with the tracker, I was already annoyed and stopped using it. :D
Claudia’s Tips
My biggest motivation was my boyfriend, who always supported me, even if I was already pretty in his eyes. He never made fun of me, never tried to distract me from my goal and never demotivated me. I worked really hard to motivate myself and always worked out, even if it was hot outside, snowing or raining. I also never prohibited myself from eating anything. Instead, I always made sure I had a few calories left over so that I could enjoy a bit of chocolate. After the first 2 weeks, I even started to notice how much fun I was having filling my plate with colorful veggies and snacking on nuts and fruit.
How did YAZIO help you?
With YAZIO, I definitely learned how many calories different foods have. I had an overview of how many calories were good for my body. I never really drank a lot before and, from the first day, started drinking 3 liters of water per day. I also saw that I didn't have to prohibit certain foods. It was really just about properly planning meals.
Plus, I always looked at the fantastic recipes others were posting on the Facebook page and created my own gluten and lactose-free versions. Once I was down to 110 lb, I definitely didn't want to lose any more weight. From then on, I stopped tracking everything. Now, when I'm unsure about the calories for certain foods, I still use YAZIO to calculate them.

What advice do you have for other users?
I would definitely suggest to visit your doctor because there are various causes for being overweight. I assume that my consistent and quick weight loss had something to do with the fact that my body was being poisoned by the different food intolerances before.
In addition, I recommend not talking about it too much and just doing it! There will always be people who give you a hard time or try to bring you down out of jealousy because they weren't able to do it and don't want you to enjoy it.
Another tip I have is to never compare yourself to others. Every body reacts differently and there are so many different factors that are different for each person. You just have to keep trying different things until you find the method that works well for you. I would say that you have to listen to your body to reach your goal and not stress yourself out too much. With some relaxation and healthy discipline, you can do anything.
What are your future goals?
Now, I would like to maintain my weight, use YAZIO as a reference when I'm cooking, am unsure when grocery shopping or am looking for new recipes, and to keep doing Power Plate. Once I've managed to get a defined six-pack, I've promised myself a new car as a reward.
Why do you want to tell your story?
If I could do it, so can you. For years, I suffered from feeling short and fat. Since I changed my eating habits and lost the weight, I feel reborn. My relationships have benefited from it: I feel much more secure and self-confident. I have way more energy. At work, I get twice as much done as before. I finally feel happy. I'm not as sensitive anymore and can better deal with stress and daily life.
It's important not to give up and not let yourself get down. The end results will make you feel so proud and these good feelings will automatically carry over into your everyday life and work.
