Why did you want to lose weight?
I decided to lose weight because I wasn't comfortable in my own body anymore. The person I saw in the mirror didn't reflect the real me.
"No pain, no gain!"
From that moment, I knew I had to change something because my goal was to have a six-pack.
Today, I'm proud to say that I accomplished that goal.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
At first, my weight-loss journey was more like a self-experiment. My goal was always to be toned. My whole life I was either too thin or too big. I just didn't feel comfortable in my own body anymore. This is why I completely changed my eating habits and workout routine, and the reason why I could finally reach my goal.
How did you reach your goals?
In the past, I was actually always too thin. I only weighed 128 pounds and that with a height of 5'7". I wanted to finally be able to build muscle and started eating a lot more, even when I wasn't hungry. I usually ate foods that had a ton of calories. I did it to help gain weight, but that was the biggest mistake I could make. My body started storing fat and, in the end, I was weighing in at 176 pounds.
Florian’s Tips
So, I tried to lose the weight while maintaining as much muscle as I could. After the gyms opened up following the first Corona lockdown, I was strength training 4–5 times per week as well as doing a little cardio. I'm really not a fan of cardio, but I wanted to reach my goal, so I kept at it.
I changed my diet and started eating much healthier than before. I ate 6 small meals a day so I wouldn't feel like I was starving for hours.
How did YAZIO help you?
YAZIO helped me track my protein, carb and fat intake so that I could stay within my calorie goal and eat healthier. My favorite part of the app is that you can scan a barcode and automatically save the item's nutritional information. You don't have to calculate anything yourself.
Did you have setbacks?
There were, of course, hard times when I didn't feel like working out or had cravings for sweets. Nevertheless, you have to overcome your inner couch potato and keep going. After all, you can't make something out of nothing.
What advice do you have for other users?
Never give up and always keep your eye on the prize. Success will follow.
What are your future goals?
I will go back to the bulking phase, but this time I will eat healthily from the beginning and not make the same mistake I made the first time around. I'd also like to keep using YAZIO. It's a great support throughout the day and helps me cover my calorie needs.
Why do you want to tell your story?
I want to share my story with others to help motivate them. Anybody can reach their goal, even if it's not always easy. Once you see the results, you'll feel so much healthier and fitter.
