Why did you want to lose weight?
Not only did the extra weight have an aesthetic effect, but it was a health issue too. It all started with a bet I made with myself, which I won.
"Don't let your ego get in the way of your success."
I also wanted to lose weight so I could take long walks without getting too tired or straining my legs too much. I wanted to be able to get to the end of the day and still have the energy someone my age should have. I succeeded. Now I love walking, running and exercising without constantly feeling tired.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
My initial goal was to lose weight. Now, I'm determined to improve my overall physical condition. I want to build a good amount of muscle to improve my figure. I'd already made some attempts in the past, but without success. Discovering that nutrition is the key is how I was able to reach that first milestone.
How did you reach your goals?
I created my diet with help from YAZIO—a simple low-calorie diet with a slightly higher protein content so I wouldn't lose lean mass while losing weight.
Isidoro’s Tips
The weight-loss phase took place during the first Covid-19 lockdown in Italy when gyms were closed. I used to work out 3 times a week at home, opting for cardio during the weight-loss phase and resistance workouts when building muscle mass (strength training and body-weight exercises).
Cheat meals have been a huge help. Once a week, I eat a rich meal without counting calories. It's a great way to take a time-out and start again more determined than before.
How did YAZIO help you?
Thanks to its precision and option to always add new foods, YAZIO has been fundamental for calorie counting. The weight-tracking graph was also very useful. Seeing that curve constantly moving down motivated me until the end. The success stories also shouldn't be overlooked. They motivate you to think "I can do it too!"
Did you have setbacks?
I've had moments when my weight plateaued, but I never gave up. I always focused on my goals and, thanks to my determination, I managed to reach them. However, when you are having difficulties with your diet, it's important to know how to take control and not get overwhelmed.
What advice do you have for other users?
Approach it like a game, one with no "game over" feature and just 1 winner: You! Even a small milestone is a big victory.
Satisfaction grows each time you and the people around you notice the changes. Try it, get in the game!
What are your future goals?
Now, I'm working on toning my body and building muscle mass to complete this hard, yet successful journey. I want to show that it's possible to go from being in bad shape to optimal shape.
Why do you want to tell your story?
I was motivated to get started when I heard about other people accomplishing their goals. From there, I made a bet with myself and I managed to reach all of my goals. Talking with others, listening to advice and having a good support system can be really helpful when making these kinds of changes.
