Why did you want to lose weight?
I constantly felt uncomfortable and never wanted to show off my body. Even when all my friends went swimming or I was invited to a pool party, I never went. I wanted to change that and I wanted to have a body I could be completely proud of.
"Go after what you deserve."
I tried so many times before, but I was so weak mentally that I would give up after a week or even just one day. One time, I managed to lose around 30 pounds, but after just four months, I was back up 45 pounds. I felt like a failure and was always putting myself down.
But for some reason, I tried again, even though I had failed so many times before. When I finally reached my heaviest at 227 pounds, I decided to give it another go. For six months, I consistently stuck to my goal every day and lost 75 pounds.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
My goal was to feel good in my own body and not be afraid to show it off.
How did you reach your goals?
I calculated my calorie needs with YAZIO and then consumed around 300 Calories fewer than I needed. I tracked every meal in the app. I also tracked when I was at restaurants and even had a little scale with me at parties so I could weigh my food.
Felix’s Tips
I added a cheat day but only after I had already reached my goal and started with building muscle. It was great to be able to eat anything I felt like again. But I have to admit, after the cheat day, I wasn't as satisfied as I had hoped.
How did YAZIO help you?
YAZIO helped me a lot. Without calorie counting, I certainly wouldn't be where I am now. I've used the app every day for the last 6 months because it brings a sense of security and stability to my everyday routine.
Did you have setbacks?
I would treat myself to something every once in a while, but I was always very consistent in following my goal, so I didn't have any setbacks.
What advice do you have for other users?
If you want to lose weight but don't feel like doing a proper workout, go for a walk. It's not at all exhausting and you'll still burn a lot of calories.
What are your future goals?
One goal is to build muscle. I consume a slight calorie surplus now and work out several times a week. I will continue to track my meals diligently with YAZIO.
Why do you want to tell your story?
I want to share my story because I know exactly what it feels like to be insecure about how you look. I did it and I know that those who really want it can do it, too!
