Why did you want to lose weight?
I constantly had headaches and pain in my hips. I didn't feel like doing anything, I was moody, lazy and unmotivated. I had already gone 2 years without sugar, but it didn't really have any effect on weight loss.
"Don't ever give up and don't let setbacks bring you down! Do it for your health."
The trigger for my weight loss was a book that I read. After reading it, I started looking for a good app I could use for calorie counting and a friend recommended YAZIO. Since then, my weight loss has been going great. :)
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
My main goal was to lose weight and get fitter. In addition, I wanted to do something for my health in general and feel better overall.
How did you reach your goals?
Drinking a lot really helped during my weight loss. I drank at least 2 to 3 liters of water per day. In addition, I consumed fewer carbs, less fat and, instead, integrated more protein and movement into my day. I didn't follow any special diet.
I tailored recipes to my needs, for example, by using low-fat ingredients or leaving out the sugar. I didn't want to have cheat days while trying to lose weight, so I didn't plan any into my week.
Silja’s Tips
Throughout the entire process, there were only 2 or 3 cheat days. Although, even on these days, it didn't get out of hand. When possible, I prepare meals in advance and take them with me. That way, I don't get hungry while I'm out and about and know exactly what and how much I can eat. I don't really do any particular exercise, but I leave my car at home about 90% of the time and walk or take my bike. I also do some core and leg exercises at home sometimes.
How did YAZIO help you?
YAZIO helped me a lot. For me, having control over the calories I was consuming was a big help. Although, the tons of delicious recipes were also great inspiration. In addition, the daily check of body measurements really helped, as I was able to better see my results.
Did you have setbacks?
I did have setbacks and that's completely normal. With that said, I never lost sight of my goal and never let them bring me down. When I was having a hard time, my close friends helped me a lot. They always supported and listened to me.
What advice do you have for other users?
My tip: Always keep in mind that you are doing this for yourself and no one else! You didn't gain the weight overnight and you need to have patience, as losing the weight is also a slow process. Keep your head up and, when necessary, give yourself a little kick in the a** ;)
What are your future goals?
I will use YAZIO to maintain my weight and continue to eat healthy. I'm really proud of myself and all that I've accomplished.
Why do you want to tell your story?
For me, it's important to tell my story because I know how difficult this journey can be sometimes. For example, when you hit a plateau or you have a day when you can't stop eating. Don't ever give up and don't let setbacks bring you down! Do it for your health. You've got this!!!
