Why did you want to lose weight?
The trigger for me to lose weight was at the beginning of last year when I almost got up to 220 pounds. By that time, I weighed more than my boyfriend and had already suffered a stress fracture in my foot due to my weight. I couldn't stand myself anymore. Did I want to continue living like this in my mid-thirties?
"Only you can change something. It's your body and it's your life!"
After countless attempts and tips from others, I was a bit unsure what I should do. Should I cut out carbs, stop eating after 6:00 p.m., have a big breakfast or opt for keto? Which way is the right one? Someone recommended calorie counting to me. That's how I found YAZIO and learned that I didn't have to ask myself these questions anymore.
What did you want to accomplish on your journey?
My goal was to simply feel better and get into better shape. I wanted to be able to keep up with my two sons at home and not always be out of breath. I didn't want to feel like I had to hide as soon as someone took a picture of me because I felt like I looked awful.
How did you reach your goals?
I reached my goal by being disciplined with my calorie counting. It's not rocket science. You can actually eat anything you want, just as long as you stay in a calorie deficit.
I found my love for protein-rich food because it keeps me feeling full, and I replace a lot of my sugar intake with alternatives.
Sandra’s Tips
I make myself a meal plan every week, writing down what I want to eat each day. That's a big help. Of course, there are also days I eat more, but that doesn't bring me down. I just continue as usual on the next day.
How did YAZIO help you?
YAZIO was my companion from the beginning. Calorie counting has never been easier, whether you scan the products or log them manually. I wouldn't want to be without it yet, as it gives me sense of security when it comes to my calorie intake.
Did you have setbacks?
Luckily, I didn't have any big setbacks. At most, I had a bit of a plateau because I ate more than planned during my vacation. But that's also okay!
What advice do you have for other users?
My advice would be to never give up. Every day can be a new beginning.
What are your future goals?
First and foremost, I want to try to maintain my weight and not fall back into old habits. I might also like to work out more. Right now I'm a bit unmotivated and don't do more than just hula hooping.
Why do you want to tell your story?
I want to motivate others to believe in themselves. You can do anything! There will always be bad days, when things aren't going the way you'd like, but then you get back up the next day and try again. One day, it will just click.
The journey of life isn't a straight line. It's a zigzag. That's completely normal and the way it should be. Otherwise, life would be boring. It's exactly the same when it comes to weight loss!
